SCIENTIFIC
INSTRUMENTS develops, manufactures & markets instrumentation used to monitor
and control liquid processes. We specialize in the measurement of pure &
ultrapure water with parameters such as silicates, phosphate, sodium, hydrazine,
copper, iron, fluoride, ammonia and hex chrome. Scientific Instruments products
are commonly used in power and steam generation, semiconductor manufacturing
as well as food, beverage and chemical production and environmental monitoring.
Scientific Instruments is celebrating its 25th Anniversary during 2002,
having been incorporated in 1977.The founders began with familiar ground --
a product line including accessories for automated analysis as they had
spent the previous 10+ years as leaders in automated chemical analysis for industry
at the pioneer in the industry.
Early applications included accessories for existing systems and soon automated
modular lab systems for measurements in environmental, food, agricultural, fertilizer,
pharmaceutical, process & power-related companies. A proprietary on-line
monitor for water analysis soon followed as did PC-based data handling for the
lab products. In 1985, Scientific Instruments merged as a wholly-owned subsidiary
of an internationally recognized company with strengths in electrochemistry.
The primary project was designing & manufacturing on-line analyzers for
monitoring silica and phosphate for process & ultrapure water.
The founders bought the company back in early 1987 and late that year launched
the CFA-1000 series, on-line monitor for process & ultrapure water applications.
Applications included silica, phosphate, hydrazine, sodium, copper, iron, ammonia,
hexavalent chromium and others as well as accessories and reagents for these
systems.. In 1991, all laboratory-related products were divested and since,
Scientific Instruments has devoted 100 % of its resources to on-line monitoring
systems and accessories.
CFA-1030 silica monitors feature a patented calibration system which allows
this monitor to accurately measure silica in up to (6) streams per monitor with
detection limits well below 1 ppb; the CFA-1011 sodium monitor features proprietary
electrodes which are fully maintenance-free & last for 5 years or more.
All monitors measure up to (6) streams per analyzer.
Scientific Instruments monitors are widely used in the power, process
& semi-conductor industries world-wide, as well as many other disciplines
where water is widely used.
